課程概述 |
This course will introduce and study James Joyce’s two novels--_Dubliners_ and _A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man_--in detail. Special attention will be paid to Joyce’s narrative techniques, in addition to the introduction of the necessary socio-historico-cultural context of his novels. |

課程目標 |
By studying and discussing Joyce’s short stories and novel in detail, the course aims to familiarize students with the Irish and modernist contexts in which Joyce wrote and Joyce's stylistic concerns and innovations. |

課程要求 |
Students are required to preview the texts, participate in group discussions, rotate-give oral reports, and write assignments, including take-home quizzes, essays, mid-term and final reports. |
